The old cellar of the “Château de Colombiers” is remarkable for its volume and its majestic frame inspired by an overturned boat hull Its construction dates back to the end of the 19th century and belongs to the Lagarrigue family (a family from Béziers who became ennobled by marrying into the La Cassagne family), owners of the neighboring Château de Colombiers and of 85 hectares of vineyards cultivated around their property At the time the winery was first built, it consisted only of the main rectangular building, occupying nearly 1500m² and housing 18 wooden tuns. Between 1925 and 1930 it was enlarged, modified and modernized. After more than 40 years of intense activity, it ceased to function at the end of the 1970s. Bought by the municipality at the end of the 20th century, it was restored and opened to the public as a place of visit and an exhibition room which welcomes numerous artists and cultural events.
