Bateaux Toulousains offers you original cruises along the city’s waterways. From March to June, you can sail on the Canal du Midi. Built under the reign of Louis XIV, this is one of the oldest canals in Europe still in use. You will discover the history of this astonishing and majestic canal as well as that of its designer, Pierre Paul Riquet. Two cruises are available on the Canal du Midi: the “3 Locks” cruise (duration 1h15) with passage of the 3 locks in the city centre or the “Riquet” cruise (duration 1h30) which will take you outside the city centre towards Ramonville for a more bucolic and leafy ambiance. From July to October, cruises take place on the River Garonne and the Canal de Brienne. In the past, this canal was used to to deliver pastel and transport wood and marble from the Pyrenees. With an unobstructed view of the Dôme de la Grave and the Pont Neuf, you can cruise along this waterway steeped in history. Three cruises are available on the Garonne: the cruise on the Garonne and the Canal de Brienne with passage through the Saint-Pierre lock (duration: 60 minutes), the cruise on the Garonne only (30 minutes) and finally the night cruise on the Garonne (duration: 40 minutes). Good to know : – For the “3 Locks” cruise: departure from Port Saint-Sauveur and arrival at Port de l’Embouchure or vice versa (depending on the programme). For the “Riquet” cruise, departure and arrival is at Port Saint-Sauveur. – For cruises on the Garonne, departures and arrivals are from Port de la Daurade. – The 30-minute cruises on the Garonne and the night tours are only available in July and August. – These cruises are perfect for families as well as for anyone who wants an incredible view of Toulouse and its canals. – The boat is accessible for people with physical and visual disabilities. – Only small dogs are permitted on board. – Groups can book the bus directly through the company. – Schedules may be changed or cruises cancelled depending on weather and sailing conditions.
