It’s Carnival time!
The long-awaited flagship event for all Viassois heralds the arrival of fine weather and will once again set the pace for our town! Rendezvous for the 2025 edition, from Thursday February 27 to Sunday March 2.
On the program
– Thursday, February 27 – Carnival opening & Carnival party.
6:30 p.m. – Parvis de la Vigneronne: Entertainment with the Bâton Club Viassois majorettes, the Petit and Grand Poulain dances and a Peña, followed by an aperitif offered by the “Les Amis du Carnaval” association.
– Friday February 28 – Children’s Carnival.
10:45 am – Place des Arènes: “Pitchous” Buffet in the presence of a Peña and the Petit Poulain.
2pm – place du 11 novembre: Peña entertainment, inflatable games, Petit Poulain dance, Majorettes from the Bâton Club Viassois
4pm – 5pm – Place du 11 Novembre: Parade through the village streets, followed by a candy toss.
9pm – Place du 14 juillet : Ball
– Saturday March 1 – Adult Carnival.
10:30 am – Place des Arènes: Buffetière gathering with the Peñas and the Poulain.
10:40 am – Place du 14 juillet: Dance by the Grand Poulain.
11am – Place du 14 juillet: Departure of the Buffetière.
12h30 – Place du 14 juillet : Arrival of the Buffetière with its traditional “Gabel”, dance of the Grand Poulain, Peñas.
1.30pm – 4pm – Place du 14 juillet: Batucada.
4pm – In front of the post office: Gathering for the parade.
4:30pm: Departure of the parade followed by the death of Mr. Carnaval (mort de M. Carnaval parking Gambetta).
9pm – Place du 14 juillet: Costume ball.
– Sunday, March 2nd
11 a.m. – Place du 14 juillet: After Carnaval meal (no reservation required, on site or to take away).
A Red Cross first-aid post will be manned at the Town Hall (Place des Arènes) on Friday and Saturday.
A site managed by Voies navigables de France in collaboration with members of the “Entente du Canal du Midi” and their tourist operators.
